Bloomsday 2012
For Spokane, the first Sunday in May is Bloomsday. Whether you're a walker or runner, now is a great time to start training for the event.
This year 10 PFG colleagues are signed up to participate in the 36th running of the Lilac Bloomsday Run on May 6, 2012 in Spokane, Washington.
Local runner and 1976 Olympic marathon participant Don Kardong created the race in 1977 and the rest is history. In 1996, the race reached its highest level of participation with 61,298, becoming the largest timed road race worldwide at the time. Today, the race is part of the fabric of Spokane and the Inland Northwest and more walkers participate than runners.
PFG has two, five person, Bloomsday Corporate Cup teams that include Jeremy Kahn, Nick Paget, Kathie Watson, Marilyn Maphies, Theresa Crowley, Michelle Lowry, Adam Guyton, Jeff Wallace, Adam Benson, and Jenel Emahiser.
Client Account Manager Jenel Emahiser is helping coordinate PFG's participation and hoping for a Personal Record.
"It is nice to get out and do something athletic with the folks we work with. This is a very social event. However, there are some serious runners that will be participating. I would love to run it in under 1 hour 5 minutes."
We hope you'll join us for this memorable event.
