Summer 2011
Ella Macpherson, daughter of Boise branch employee Kelley Macpherson, is taking hunger into her own hands. Little Ella recently celebrated her 7th birthday party, and in lieu of the latest American Girl doll or Disney DVD, Ella requested that her party guests bring a cash donation for the Idaho Foodbank. Inspired by the Picnic in the Park program that provides free lunches to children, Ella was determined to ensure that other boys and girls are able to enjoy the same cost-free meal.
Ella raised $120, and thanks to the Halt the Hunger program who matched her funds, she was able to provide 720 meals to needy families in Idaho. Kelley, and the rest of the PFG family, is immensely proud of the enormity of this little girl's heart. Way to go, Ella!
